Association of Nigerian Health Journalists, (ANHEJ), is a non-governmental, non-profit organization, comprising professional journalists assigned by different media organizations to cover and report activities in the health sector in Nigeria. 

ANHEJ seasoned and driven members are passionate about good health of every life. Members conduct in-depth investigations and interact with state and non-state actors to obtain health information  needed to boost health profile of the nation. 

ANHEJ is raising the stakes by sensitizing the  government, non-governmental institutions and the general population on the need to effect desired change in health habits  in order to live healthy lives. ANHEJ combines professionalism with teamwork to productively engage its local and foreign contacts to drive its ambitions.

ANHEJ builds relationship with health experts locally and globally. Investigative journalism is a priority for ANHEJ, as members get commendations for good reports done.

In the pursuit of its goals, ANHEJ accords high priority to professional development of its members through periodic trainings, seminars and conferences locally and internationally.

President

A hardworking and energetic journalist with a strong newspaper copy editing background with over fifteen years full-time working experience investigating, writing and editing stories. Zaggi, a strong analyst of health policies and national issues is the current Health/Crime Editor of The AUTHORITY newspapers. He has worked at several media organizations in Nigeria including Nigeria Newsday, Nigeria Sunrise, Daily Independent and was once the Editor, Health Talk magazine, a magazine that deals exclusively with health related issues.

Aisha Uba Ali

Vice President

Aisha Uba Ali is a Mass Communication graduate from Bayero University Kano, Kano State, she is a wife and mother of two. Her work experience started with NTA Kafanchan, Kaduna State where she offered voluntary services between 2007/2008 and was later absorbed as a Reporter in NTA in 2009 . She is a presenter and producer of a program on NTA called 'You and your reps', she covers issues around women and children but primarily covers the health beat.

She is a reporter and heads the Health Desk, at Voice of Nigeria (VON), Abuja. Her hobbies include, taking pictures, making people happy and browsing Social Media. She is very passionate about her job and enjoys reporting health related matters.
